I’m back Cookout!

Oh thank God Tuesday night climb was followed by Cookout.  It’s been nearly 2 months without a milkshake (minus the substitute Bill sent my way this summer), and I’ve been going through some serious withdrawl.  Yeah, Pinkberry’s good and all, but it’s no substitute for Cookout.

I was so hungry by the end of climbing I decided to go ahead and finally get some food.  For only $.99 I got 5 chicken nuggets that were hot and delicious.  Plus, for a total of less than $3, I also got my very favorite Mint Peanut Butter Cup milkshake.  I will admit, it was a bit short on the peanut butter this time (was it that, or are my expectations just too high?).  But, it was delicious.

Plus, there was a wonderful guy working there who was super nice to us the whole time, and even offered to buy Jen’s milkshake when she insisted she didn’t want anything.  Extra points there.  Overall: 9.5 (-.5 for the PB cups)

You know how sometimes you take an accidental action shot that turns out to be HILARIOUS, an not at all what you planned?  You think the one above is good, you would die with the other one   I’m keeping it forever, and looking at it every time I have a bad day.

Care Packages!

I have some fabulous family and friends, and have received two pretty great care packages while staying here in LA.  While spending the summer somewhere different has been an incredible professional opportunity, and saved me from the miserable NC summer heat, I’ve also found myself missing family, friends and dogs more than expected.  So it’s always nice to receive a little something in the mail letting you know they miss you too.

-1 because sometimes they actually make you miss home more.  But overall they’re still fabulous

I especially liked Bill’s Cookout ‘milkshake’.  A styrofoam Cookout cup, with Ghiradelli mint chocolates and peanut butter cups inside.  Also included were directions instructing me to just add ice cream…
